Spontaneously going out on a friday night after dinner with your best friends and ending up having a after party until six in the morning is the perfect recipe for a good weekend.

Lions in Cages

(ph. wolfgang.com)
I spend most of my day accompanied with music. Radio, Spotify, CD´s, vinyl, ipod, I simply can´t live without. As a aspiring journalist I combine my music and fashion interest with school assignment as often as I can (that way even economic can be fun to write about). This week I interviewed Wolf Gang, the artist behind one of my favorite songs at the moment "Lions in Cages."

"Looking to fill a Time to Pretend-shaped hole in your heart?" Asks The Daily Telegraph in an article about up-and-comming artist. Well, call off the search. 23 year old Max McElligott is predicted to be the new MGMT; And with a reason. Under the name Wolf Gang he delivers sweet, fun, lovely synth tones that makes you wanna dance all night long.

It´s hard to get a career in the spotlight. Everybody wants to be the girl with the most cake, but if your blessed with the talent that makes you write and record a whole album by yourself, well, than you might just got what it takes. Max defines himself as "a solo artist, but I play with a band." If the name Wolfgang seems familiar to you, you are probably thinking about one of the worlds most famous composers; Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Is there any connection though?

- No, I didn´t think about Mozart when I came up with the name. I thought more of a gang of wolfs. But I do love classic music. The most beautiful ting I know is the sound of a piano.

Ever since boys with guitars and skinny jeans began to categorice their music as "indie" a cupel of years back the genre has been up for debate everywhere. "Indie" was originally the term for unsigned underground bands in Seattle, and the therm is still used by undiscovered bands without a record deal. Wolf Gang categorices his music as a mix between indie, alternative and pop.

- I think the three give a good summary of the genre of music I create, it isn´t straight up pop, there is a slightly weird and wonderful sound to the album. The producer who worked on the album (which will be out around easter), Dave Fridmann, is one of America´s most well respected indie producers. I think indie has become an umbrella term for all sort of interesting music.

One of the photographer students at my school asked me to do some modeling for her fashion editorial, and quite skeptical I agreed. I hate being in front of the camera, and prefer being the person standing behind it shouting "do that, chin up, shoulder down" ect, but I think the result turned out quite cool.

oh you wanna make me high

things I look forward to

Weekday is to open in Trondheim this month, and I cant wait to ruin myself! Being a student, its all about getting the food on the table and save every penny you have so you can eat something else than pasta in the weekends, but for this, I can eat pasta forever. Not that I don´t like pasta, but hey, eating the same thing for a week can get quite boring.

Weekday is everything my style is. Minimalistic, scandinavian, black-white-grey and transparent. Throw in some vintage flowery dresses and denim shirts and you have me.

I´m also going to England in about two weeks, to look at schools. So hopefully, we´re getting some shopping time so i can say hello topshop! And really, just getting out of this town for a day or two is really something to look forward to.
