Architecture in Karlstad

I found this house while walking the streets of Karlstad a cold October morning. The first thing that hit me was the color of the house. Together with the mostly white and yellow houses this blue one clearly stands out. The shapes of it also makes it stand out. I kind of fell in love with it, although I'm not into modern house architecture.

Tuesday

Someday, somehow

Well, its a bit embarasing to admit but right now little Jenny Humphrey in Gossip Girl is living the life of my dreams. She's got the talent, she's got the job and on top of it all she has the cool model friend with the photographer dude and the perfect guy! I just wana quit school, move away from this shit town I live in and start doing the things I want to do and start living my life. I'm scik of this. I want to design, write, take pictures and most of all style and dance the nights away. I wana work for a magazine like Nylon, I wana style in photo shoots or in runway shows and I want to open my own cafe/bookshop/record store/clothing company/magazine. I want to move away and live in a big city and wear heels every day.

Monday

The Geek

(All pictures by Astrid R.)
This weekend a friend of mine who happens to be a hairdresser did this hairdressing competition thing called "Hair 2008" and I absolutely adore the haircut, the styling and the whole image of this look. The geek is back and he's looking hotter than ever. Oh, I wish guys would actually dress like this, it's so wicked! Well, it's no secret that she won her class, it's brilliant!

Friday

Let's dance to Joy Division

(pic from, ehe, the cvw.com, I think)
I just fell in love with a movie. Control by Anton Corbijn captures the history of Ian Curtis, singer in Joy Division. The mood, the music, the actors and of course the carasters of Ian Curtis and his lover Annik Honore played by Sam Riely and Alexandre Maria Lara. You just got to love Alexandres present, look and style.

Wednesday

Wardrobe

I just realized that I'm  only using half my wardrobe. Less that half my wardrobe when I start to think about it. I have these basic favorite  items that I use all the time, I just mix them up, style them differently and let the accessories do some of their magic, but most of the time I keep it simple. Give me my black and grey stockings and grey knee-socks, a pair of jeans, a dress jacket, some black dresses, a brown leather belt, customized vest, striped sweaters and shirts, black skirts, flannel shirts, my rolling stones t-shirt, cardigans, basic singlets and my super-cozy knitted jacket and I can live a lifetime. I have done a lot of in-the-moment buying during my years, and I hate to throw or give my clothing away, it's my clothing for christ sake! I love it, I really do. But anyway, I thinking about starting a sales-blog. Think green, buy second hand - recycle!

Edit. While looking through this post I just realized one thing. I wear a lot of black!

Monday

Karl the bear

I was supposed to post this weeks ago, but I somehow forgot. Oh well, as a dedicated Chanel fan I can't help but to adore Karl Lagerfeld and his whole image. The man is simply a genius, a style icon, cool as a cucumber and he definitely know how to rock a ponytail and a teddy bear.

Saturday

Missing:

(socks from urbanoutfitters.uk.com)
It seems like I somehow managed to misplace my beautiful knee-height-socks somewhere. I'm guessing that they are laying under my hotel bed in Sweden. Isn't that just perfect!

Friday

I'm in love, with a dress

I'm in love with a dress. This beautiful beautiful dress made by the danish brand Container. I found it during my way to find stylish people in the city to put on gatemote in this super cosy store in the "alternative" part of Aalesund called !E... and I fell hopelessly madly in love with it. And yes, I know the fact that it is a dress, but it is simply brilliant, so well designed and customized  and every little detail matters. Like the fact that the arms are see-trough, the lace at the bottom and on the arms and the thin velvet brim at the bottom under the lace. It's all a part of a package that ends up in a beautiful designed dress, that I know, would look great on me. I just know it. Too bad I'm broke and when I told my mom it was my only christmas wish this year she just laughed. Oh, I have to win the lottery and get rich soon! It's the matter of life and a dress, seriously it is.

Thursday

Summer dress

It's autumn, but with stockings you can still wear your favorite summer dress. Do it! It makes you feel good and happy, believe me.

It's what I do

Wednesday

Hey, I've got some new shoes

New shoes bought during this last month. Well, it's no secret that I'm now currently broke. But buhu, I needed the shoes, all of them, I really did. They are cute, end of story and bad guilt. I have started this new Becky Brandon (The shopaholic books) thing. I tell myself that I really need these objects and that they are on my "to buy this month" list which I make before every paycheck and this way I prove that I needed this pair of shoes and when I'm then broke half trough the month, there is no such thing as bad guilt fore money spent.

Monday

Ok, so whatever, nevermind

(pic from, ehe, everywhere)
I'm in love with Alexa Chungs style. It's so laid back, effortless chick and the way she mixes a bit of indierock attitude with classic items like a Chanel jacket looks so brilliant amassing. And not to mention the fact that she works for a music tv-program and is dating cutecute Artic Monkeys vocalist. Why, why do some people just get it all? Luckeypigs.

Sunday

In desperate need of sleep

Three strait days of partying, I'm as dead as I can be.

Tuesday

Andrew Gn in Paris

(pic from style.com)

I'm in love with a designer who isn't my regular favorite for the first time for a while now. The mix between classic and ethnic india is brilliant. The use of color is brilliant and different from a lot of the other ss 09 collections who show a lot of white and nude pieces. The collection sticks to one theme the whole way and several of the patterns was like a red thread through the whole thing and this amazing black and gold flowery pattern who showed off on a short dress, this amazing floor-length couture evening-dress and on a pair of pants.

Friday

Sweden here we come

In two hours I'm on a buss on my way to Oslo, and then on a train to Kristinehamn where I'm spending my fall break staying at my uncle and ants hotel. I'm stressing out! Typical me, I'm not done packing or doing the stuff I was supposed to do. It's gonna be lovely to see my cousins again and to spend a week of relaxation. And hopefully, there's going too bee some shopping too. I've bought Vogue and lots of candy, I'm ready to spend ten hours on a buss with my little brother and two of my cousins. Ciao

Thursday

I'm a norwegian in new york

(ss 09, pic from style.com)
(fw 08, pic from eliseoverland.com)

Punk rock chick with colored John Lennon glasses. I adore the ss 09 collection from Elise Overland, or Øverland as it is in Norwegian. Yes, this woman is norwegian. Shock? I know. Both her fw 08 collection and the ss 09, which was shown at the new york fashion week has really put her on the map, and everybody is loving her signature leather jackets. I must say, right now, I' m proud of being Norwegian.
